The Sound Machine may be used to investigate nodes and standing waves. Use the probe to investigate how the intensity of the sound varies along the length of the tube and to show the presence of standing waves by locating the nodes and anti nodes.
Use the Sound Machine to investigate the relationship between velocity, frequency and wavelength; and to calculate the speed of sound in air.
